This splitter gave me 6 balanced outputs, which means the signal level is distributed equally to each output. The Spectrum guy originally connected two splitters in series to connect my TV/network modem, which means the outputs of the first splitter were "hotter" and the signal coming out of the second splitter was weaker. It might seem finicky, but it's best to use a splitter with enough ports for each of your devices. The splitter also handles signals up to 2GHz and provides the two-way signaling you need for your cable box to communicate with your service provider.
