Review on Prominence Home Clancy Ceiling Fan - Brushed Nickel, 52-inch by Heather Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good, very quiet, very balanced (in my case!) fan.

The fan looks quite elegant, but with this "wood look" on the blades. It goes great with my weird computer and rustic theme. It's not really a theme, but it kind of works, and this fan helps by going well with this look. It was fairly easy to install, with the only exceptions of "fixing the swivel clamp properly" and "installing the wiring over the remote box", but even those weren't terrible. It's a bit cramped, at least with my "standard ceiling box" mount. A neat, modern box with a ceiling fan to mount could have been less of a nuisance, but I'm thinking about it right now. Oh well. In any case, the fan blades and brackets fit well, and the covers and stuff worked fine. It's ultra-smooth movement and very quiet sound. And as someone with Asperger's, I have AMAZING hearing. Compared to conventional fans, the thing is very quiet even at full speed. Maybe it would be dead quiet if I had blade balance perfect, but even for me it's super-extra-quiet. I love not having to listen to "wr-uump, rr-rooom" like my last ceiling fan did! Swept through the floor and.ugh. This fan is almost silent. The remote control is "completely adequate", but perhaps it could have been made a little better. However, the bracket is good and the remote still holds well in the bracket on my wall!

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Not everything fits
