I bought 3 of these Schilling Marblescopes - the correct name for this type of kaleidoscope TELEidoskop - as a gift for a family with young children, knowing that the youngest, who is 2 would also like to see. I figured that 6 and 4 year olds and a child with parental help could enjoy this as family fun. They were a hit and I know parents will continue to love attending, just as I thought. Well made enough and attractive enough to be a gift. I'm buying two more again, this time as a gift for a large family where more than one child or parent wants to try at the same time. Too bad they aren't made in China, but oh well. I looked for US made ones and there were no domestic versions of the teleidoscope unless it was custom made and prohibitively expensive. One star only for the China factor. The teleidoscope is a fun, new and creative way to see our world up close or from afar. Definitely the wow effect!
