I got this for my 5 year old to be able to "call" me at night if she needs me. We had just moved and her bedroom is now at the other end of the hall from ours, and my husband has a white noise machine up pretty loud. I couldn't hear her when she'd wake up crying from a bad dream, or not feeling well, which upset her (and me!) even more. No parent wants to be unreachable when their young children need them! After we got over the first couple nights of it being new and her pushing it randomly for "just one more hug", its been great! It has a ton of different songs and tones you can choose, which is why I chose this option. You can also set the volume for each receiver and a different song/tone for each button. I didn't want to wake up at 3am to an annoying alarm beep, which is the only noise available on all of the care giver alert call buttons. We stuck a button in her bathroom and one on her headboard, and plugged a receiver in next to our bed and one downstairs. Now I don't have to worry about not being able to hear her, and if she does need me, I wake up to a nice low volume Mozart tune. Set up was pretty easy and its been working perfectly for over a month now. I'd recommend going this route if you need a call button, a cool door bell, or both!
