Good monitor, important caveat for MacBook users

I've only had this monitor for about a day, but wanted to write a quick review to help anyone using a MacBook. The included USB-C cable does NOT work with my Intel 16" Macbook Pro. It charged the MacBook and connected USB devices that I plugged into the back of the monitor, but the display didn't work. I tried ", restarted the MacBook and manually tried to recognize the display but it just couldn't find it. On a whim I bought an Apple Thunderbolt USB C cable and it recognized it straight away. This is the first Mac that I've had for years and I'm new to using a USB-C monitor. Maybe it's obvious to advanced users, but I wanted to share my experience in case it's helpful to others. The monitor itself looks good. The The stand is very stable and adjustable, and the screen is nice and bright. Colors don't seem as saturated as they do on my MacBook Retina display, but I think I can play around with the settings to get around them to bring r. I'm not a video editor or photographer, so I don't have any specific requirements for color accuracy, but it would be nice if things were more consistent. It also works well with my PC via the DisplayPort input.

Pros
  • AMD FreeSync
Cons
  • This monitor looks terrible for its price. It may be 4k but it's not sharp and the colors are terrible.
