These pens are EMPTY! They contain NOTHING in the pen. You have to remove the back of the pen and fill it with the liquid you want (they don't recommend alcohol). I use nail polish remover. It's a little difficult to detach the back. I removed the back cover (where the extra feathers are stored) and then firmly gripped the back and gently rocked back and forth, the end popping out. see my pics :) After I added the nail polish remover it works as expected. I plan to use it with water (and possibly diluted eye makeup remover) to cleanse the skin around my eyes after applying eyeliner if needed. Much luck :)
