When my very noisy, clumsy, not too pleasant Nesco suddenly became dusty, I had a lot of trouble deciding what type of dehydrator to buy to replace it. After a long search I decided on NutriChef and I am very happy with my decision! I live in a one bedroom apartment so noise was my top priority. That thing is quiet! I can leave it on while I'm watching TV or on the phone and you won't hear it. I'm also very happy with the compact design. I feel like I can load more of this than I could into my old dehydrator (probably because it has 5 trays instead of 4 and doesn't have dead space in the middle for that pesky hole). The trays are very strong and I don't have to worry about them breaking like I did with my previous one. I ordered some BPA-free colanders and cut them to fit the trays in case I wanted to dry something very small (scallions, herbs) and it worked well. The air circulation is great and everything dries a little faster than I'm used to. Very satisfied, would recommend this dehydrator without reservation!
