I have a StarTech.com USB 3.0 4k HDMI Adapter. StarTech.com USB 3.0 to 4K HDMI External Multi-Monitor Graphics Adapter (USB32HD4K) I never believed HDMI cables mattered until I tried my 4K display (original Seiki 39 4k). The Seiki cable that came with the display was bad. enough. I bought several cables from Revain, all 4k rated, looking for the perfect one, but they were all red dots (noisy signal) and the worst thing was the screen went dark intermittently, rendering the display unusable. I eventually settled on a better cable, but it still caused some red dots. When I moved my computer to a new location, even my best cable was causing power outages. I changed the cable several times but it still didn't work. I figured if Startech makes a 4k external graphics card they should be selling the right cable with the right specs. Or so I hoped. I just plugged it in. No red dots. Not alone. This is the best cable I have ever used with this adapter and display. I've only been using it for a few minutes but I'm sure the screen won't go blank, the signal is so clear.
