I bought these water shoes for the beach in Puerto Rico but the sand was so soft I didn't need them. I packed them for a day trip to the rainforest and was advised not to wear them when hiking to the falls. While these are definitely not hiking boots, I was amazed they survived in such terrain! We rode up and down the mountain, over rock faces and up and into waterfalls and down a natural mountain slide. At the same time, they never slipped and did not scatter at the seams. I did have to throw them away at the end of the day, but that was only because the insoles had slipped out of one of my shoes and I didn't want to pack the wet shoes in my bag to see if they could be salvaged. . I've received many compliments on how cute they are, but what impressed me the most was their staying power! Of course, they last much longer just for the pool or the beach.
