Review on High-quality Music Hall MMF-1.3 Turntable with Phono Preamp and Audio-Technica AT3600L Cartridge- A Rich Audio Experience by Amy Padilla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Take it. That's a good player.

A good turntable for music lovers but not for DJs. The sound is great, the belt driven motor doesn't add any noise. It has a built-in phono stage, so it can be connected to any audio input on the receiver or powered speakers. The line option switch on the back allows you to connect an external phono stage. A good ground stud on the back will help set it up. Easy tonearm calibration and disk assembly. The Audio-Technica AT-3600 comes pre-aligned, eliminating the need for protractors unless the owner wishes to check alignment. The only problem with the cartridge is that the tracking force is 3 grams, which is a high limit. I would prefer 2 grams to avoid tearing the vinyl. But it can be updated with permission. No groove damage. Sounds like hi-fi. Just clean the needle very gently with Mr. Clean after each spin. Very high quality sound technology. The classic black finish of the guitar/piano on the base looks stylish. This is a modern, slim, stylish turntable that plays 45" discs with the included adapter, 33" and 78" (special stylus required for 78"). The tonearm is manual with a lever that allows the needle to be raised and lowered smoothly on vinyl records to prevent scratching. Circuitry beneath the motor can be adjusted to change playback speed, but there's no pitch bend control like DJ players.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Style 90
