Review on πŸ’» Cable Matters Gold Plated Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy USB Adapter - Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP (White) by Cory Whitney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Updated - Poor quality control ruins an otherwise good product

Okay, sometimes the statement "We are responsible for our product" rings true. A few days after I submitted my first review, I received an email asking if I would revise my review if I received a replacement. While adding Bluetooth to my desktop doesn't stop me from doing what I need to do, I figured any business that wants to get it right should be given a second chance. Unfortunately, after receiving an email asking me to send me another unit, I received another message saying they were in stock. BUT, they have already contacted Revain to send me another one and if I could just give them the old unit back they would figure out why the unit failed. So nothing lost, nothing gained. I was about to order another device from someone. So since they were ONLY trying to get me a working device and not swaying my rating with free stuff, I'm increasing my rating to 4 stars. That would be a 5, but after going through 5 devices to get 2 working (read my original review below), I can't justify giving it a five star rating. I hope their quality control improves but I am impressed with the company and will be buying from them again in the future. My first review: Poor quality control. Cons: I bought some of these to install on my desktops. Only 1 out of 3 worked. They installed for a few minutes (detected after installing the driver) and then stopped working. I took the only one that worked and installed it on other PCs and the only one that worked seemed fine. One of the broken ones got so hot I almost burned myself removing it. The user interface of the device looks nice and uncluttered. The small blue flashing LED is not overloaded. There are many alternatives to this device. I'd recommend using something other than Cable Matters' gold-plated Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy USB adapter for Windows.
