The only thing holding the knife in the small holster is a piece of velcro less than 2.5cm square. Look how small the valve is in the picture and it only fits on one side. In salt water when kiting, the knife will be on the seabed for the first run. Since I had already lost the knife this way, I decided to attach it to the harness with a strong cord. But think about it. The line should be long enough to cut the kite line in an emergency, leaving a bundle of extra line hanging down. Worse, the knife will still fall out of the trapeze, leaving you swinging around while kiting and possibly accidentally cutting the lines. Since that's a more likely scenario than you needing one to actually cut your lines, you'd be safer not having a knife than one, at least for kiting. The knife itself is of good quality, but if it slips out of the holster, and it does, then it's not good.
