Review on Go Pet Club AC28 Crate by Lisa Thomas

Not bad if your pup doesn't chew!

We used to carry a 42 inch metal box of a yellow lab with us everywhere. freaked out when driving and took up half of the passenger compartment in the back. We knew there had to be a better solution. A quick search for "travel box” brought us here. We looked at several crates, the first one we bought (also GoPetClub) was too big to fit in our SUV so we returned it and took this one. The AC40 is a little smaller than a typical 42-inch box, but there's still plenty of room in our 72-pound lab to turn around and find a comfortable spot. The frame itself is very easy to install and once the bars are connected (one on each side) it is very strong yet light and easy to work with. The outer accessory pocket is a good size with room for leashes, treats and a water bottle. There's a folding screen door and sunroof, and what appears to be a short tether. The included drawer pillow has a soft faux wool cover over a ribbed plastic sheet underneath, it's not soft by any means, but it's best to sleep on a cold, hard surface. It seems easy to clean in case of accidents. The main downside is that there are too many places in the cage for a bored puppy to chew on. A short line hangs inside and there are too many open flaps and seams. We pull the short line through the sunroof when packing and also treat open flaps and seams with bitter apple. So far nothing has been swallowed. Some other downsides - there's no solid outer wall that you can close with mesh panels to give your dog some privacy or shade. There are no attachment loops in the corners so I don't know why there is a short leash at all. I doubt the material is waterproof. I wouldn't plan on using it for a hike unless the weather calls for absolutely clear skies or you can bring another dog-only tent/shed. Overall we are very happy with this cage and would recommend it if your pet is not a good chewer, is not used to a crate and your use case does not involve outdoor adventures with a chance of inclement weather.
