I only use this for sharpening scissors. I have a few in the garage that I used to cut sheets of sandpaper - not a good idea. For convenience I split the 2 halves. The sharpening angle is perfect and the cutting edge of the scissors looks like new. If the tool did this for the entire length that would be awesome. Unfortunately, due to the position of the cutting discs etc., the rear inch is not sharpened. I removed it with a flat stone. This tool is definitely worth keeping your working scissors in good condition and not throwing them away when they become dull.
