Review on πŸ”Œ BEHRINGER CT200 Cable Tester with Microprocessor Control by Aaron Urena

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An attempt to answer some questions with a low rating.

I read all the reviews before buying the CT200. I hope to be able to answer most of the complaints here. 1) "Does not test 1/4 TS ports". Well, it shows a short between the ring (3) and the socket (1). Yes, the green PASS indicator is off. So if the display shows a frame between 1 3 and 3 1, you know the TS cable is ok because there is no ring (3).2) "Instruction is missing". The written instructions are difficult to understand due to the multilingualism. I uploaded a PDF which is in English only and was very easy to follow. 3) "The manual doesn't mention using the reset button." The manual gives some examples to test and says to press the reset button after plugging in both ends. This is necessary because when you insert the last 1/4 of the plug, the tip connects to the sleeve and ring pins in the plug, creating a short circuit. 4) "No explanation of what the display means." The manual gives examples and it doesn't take long to figure out what 33 means on a TRS and XLR cable, this is the last connection tested, on a 5-pin MIDI -Cable shows the display 55, on J45 88, RCA 22, Get the idea.5 ) "The Phillips screw holding the battery door". This is bad design. I like to remove batteries or insulate the ends to prevent them from draining when not in use. But I think the product still deserves 5 stars. It is well made and works as expected. Hope this helps someone.
