I believe this thermostat/housing combination has a serious design flaw. The original thermostat/housing was constructed as one piece no matter what position you held it. This device consists of two parts: housing and thermostat. There are two small pins to align them correctly, but they will in no way prevent them from separating during the installation process. Since I was trying to stretch the block beyond any existing engine components, you had to rotate the block in all directions. This will separate the two parts and you will not be able to insert them into the engine block. I ended up having to glue them together to complete the installation. I do not recommend buying this part.
