This microphone set is unbelievable for the price. It's almost embarrassing how good they are. These are the cheapest mics I've ever bought, but they easily rival mics three or four times the price. The sound is clean, clear and full. They are sensitive enough to capture every nuance, but not too hard or brittle. As a stereo pair in X/Y configuration, they brilliantly capture the stereo field. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in any project. I think they're great for things like flutes, singing bowls, acoustic guitar, etc. I used them on bongos in a live show and they sounded really great. The only real downside I can find is that they seem a little brittle. They are not built like Shure and should be treated with care. At the time of writing this, I've had my set for a few years and they're still holding up well. Of course they're capacitors, so they need phantom power. Like most microphones, they are not suitable for all applications. I tried them on the saxophone and wasn't impressed at all. But they sounded good on the flute. Overall I am very happy to have this microphone set in my collection. I'm considering buying a second set. Last modified: September 9, 2019
