Battery, battery, battery I don't understand why this smartwatch is being compared to the Apple Watch 3. Every article about it is either "it's an Apple Watch killer" or "more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch". The comparison to the third generation Apple Watch is just odd, it's the first true smartwatch Fitbit has made but it's being compared to a device that has taken three years to refine and develop. General comments seem to be based on whether the Ionic is smart enough to be considered a smartwatch by comparing features to the Apple Watch 3. For me it's simple, a smartwatch is smart when it has built in - GPS, card payments, can store music and works with bluetooth headphones - basics which means I don't have to take my phone with me when I go for a long walk, want to pay for things and listen to music on the go. The above smartwatches are otherwise NOT smartwatches when charging. When charging, it's a piece of metal and shavings that are of no use. For me this is the main reason that makes Ionic so great; You can wear it continuously for up to four days and get all the benefits it brings (sleep analysis and accurate resting heart rate data, etc.). I think there is a clear line between the two devices and users (Apple Watch and Ionic). I have a phone, so I don't need to send text messages from the 1.25 inch display, I don't need access to social media or various other apps that reside on the Apple Watch, and I don't need to make calls on my watch like Dick Tracy, I have a phone there. The Fitbit community is built around an active lifestyle, and the Ionic fits that lifestyle perfectly. If you're reading an article that talks about certain apps or features that Ionic doesn't have, just think about the actual day-to-day usage you might be getting from those apps. a mission to reduce the size of devices and completely ignore battery life, the inconvenience of which cannot be overestimated. Blocky, after a few weeks of wearing I find it really stylish, although I understand it can be large on a petite person's hand. The brightness of the display is an absolute delight I have never seen before, all the graphics just pop out of the screen and they are so sharp. Again, there are aesthetic comparisons to the Apple Watch, as if the Apple Watch were some sort of beautiful design to use as a reference. The Apple Watch's design never appealed to me, and I've always felt that it's the best shape it can make to fit the technology. With its curved edges and thickness, it looks like the original iPhone. There are issues with Ionic, like every time I go to the Fitbit app it activates the card payment feature on the watch, and it also has trouble connecting from time to time and has to turn off and on again. So it's far from perfect, but it's a big step in the right direction. A NOTICE. Every device I own is an Apple, all my work is done on Apple, and I have an iPhone as my main phone, so the above is no hate to tarnish the apple, I'm just comparing what I see and my own experience.
