Review on Saucony VERSAFOAM Excursion Running Black by Mike Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely comfortable to walk on

I have worn Saucony shoes for many years because they are known for their softness and I like to take care of my feet. I've tried other brands but always go back to Saucony. I recently purchased these and this is the third set of trails I have purchased. The rest were TR11 and TR12 so I was a bit concerned about ordering online. But I wasn't disappointed. In any case, they are more comfortable than previous versions. I personally wouldn't wear them to run. Although marketed for treadmills, I find them best for walking. I go to work and my feet often hurt in other shoes and I keep coming back to these shoes. After walking in them for a whole day, I found that I didn't have the pain that I had in other shoes. The only caveat is that a softer shoe probably won't last as long. That's a compromise I'm willing to make. They're pretty cheap for a quality shoe, so I don't feel too bad about them wearing out. At the same time, the soles of these shoes last longer on me than on similar shoes. I tend to wear down the outer heels of my shoes, and when my shoes start to tilt to one side I throw them away. These are trail shoes with a slightly wider profile, which doesn't happen as often as other shoes, so I can wear them a little longer.
