Update (10/23): A few pins are bent. Contacted Syntech and received a replacement within a few days. Got it as part of a Syntech promotion. It's faster than regular card readers which require a USB to Thunderbolt adapter for my 2019 MBP. Sometimes the CF reader contacts appear to be bent and it is difficult to insert the card straight. But overall, it quickly transfers thousands of images to my laptop. And compared to the more expensive USB 3 readers I've bought, this outperforms them and is well worth the money.
