As my name suggests, I was initially disappointed with the sizing chart. I initially ordered a size 16 although my son is too small for a 14 year old and never wears a size 16 because the size chart says a size 16 is over 98 pounds and about 62-64 inches. 63 inches and 105 pounds. 16 was A LOT big. So we started a return and ordered 14. Which fit perfectly without having much room to grow. I tried to get him to return them and find another brand because I also felt the material was bulky and scratchy. However, he bought it for school with his own money and it starts in a few days, so he was dying to keep it. These are regular shorts. They work, but be aware you may need to downsize.
