I have never tried protein powder. I'm lactose intolerant so I went shopping because I read somewhere that people who are lactose intolerant can have problems with protein powders. I haven't had any issues after using this brand but again, I haven't tried any other protein powders so I'm not sure how they will affect me. The chocolate peanut butter flavor is really good, but when I first tried it, I put 1 scoop in 6 ounces of water (recommended amount) and it was too strong for me - left an odd taste in my mouth and I wasn't I'm sure I can drink the rest. The next time I tried a 12-ounce scoop, I thought it was much better, it didn't give me the same weird aftertaste. I also tried it with my morning coffee, not as good as I was hoping but that might be due to the taste. Next time I'll try almond milk which I expect is really good. In general I'm happy! I usually skip breakfast at work, but lately I've been struggling with lunch some days (my job can definitely be busier on some days than others). I hope this helps, gives me energy and keeps me from eating the whole restaurant when I go out for lunch. Addendum: good. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk is just what you need! So delicious!
