As a college student I was very upset when my roommates won one of those betta fish found in those little cups. So I got this tank to upgrade its habitat from a cup to a tank. The aquarium is very cute, I love the little whale and how it looks like my fish is swimming in the sea. The filter cleaned the water well, it definitely looked less stuffy when the filter was on. And the noise is very quiet and not annoying at all. The Bluetooth feature that lets you control the lights from your phone is really useful, and there's a great feature that lets you turn the lights on and off at certain times of the day. However, observing my fish, I think he was a little scared of the filter. I'm really a beginner so I don't know if my fish was just weak or what. But he seemed to fight back whenever he hit the filter waves. Another issue we fixed was the reflection in the tank. My betta is constantly expanding its fins and after doing some research I realized they do this when fighting other fish, but there weren't any fish in the tank? Then we found that by nightfall the LED in the tank made the walls look like a mirror to him so he could see his reflection in the tank and start fighting his reflection thinking it was a different fish . We easily solved this problem by simply turning off the lights at night. Overall a good simple, quiet aquarium for beginners. But again, I'm new.
