Purchased for Alienware 17 R4 (should also fit R5). Most coasters didn't seem to fit the R4 size, but this one fitted perfectly. Its angle and height are perfect for my monitors. I don't use it for typing while in use, but it seems great for typing and even just as a stand. The fans aren't entirely silent, but they're enough to be unnoticeable. Consider creating white noise in many office buildings, but at a lower volume. The fans are a perfect match for the Alienware Air Intake. The fan mount is very convenient and can be quickly adjusted if necessary. To adjust the fan speed, you can use a longer cable to get to an easier-to-reach place. I decided to turn on the fan at full speed 24/7 and hide the setting. Sturdy construction with an attractive brushed metal finish. I bought some gel pads to keep the laptop in place but didn't need to use them. The laptop is stuck and hasn't moved since putting it on. Highly recommended.
