It is located in a place where there is no natural light, so it is difficult to look inside the closet even during the day. The unit uses four D batteries, but that doesn't bother me as I use an Eneloop rechargeable battery pack that I bought from Revain a few years ago. The cool thing about Eneloop D batteries is that the D size is just a case that you put an AA battery in, so a charged AA battery will provide power and the case size matches the size of your device. As a result, Eneloop D batteries weigh significantly less than conventional batteries of this size. They last a long time charging, not like batteries from 20 years ago.
