UPDATE: I've used it twice already and absolutely love it! This is by far the best French press I've ever owned (I've had about 5 others, all glass, all eventually broke). When I first used it I forgot to heat the press first because I didn't do it with the glass press. The stainless steel cooled the coffee and it was probably colder than when I brewed it in a glass press. However, today I reminded myself that I need to heat up the press and close the spout to stay warm. When the coffee brewed (I brew pantomime for 8 minutes) it was still smoking and too hot to drink quickly. The coffee tasted great and I think it was a very good purchase. It's very strong and heavy, obviously well made. The handle attaches easily (no ugly sweat marks). I love the indicator on top and the measurements inside (which made me choose it over other poplar brands). For people who complain that the metal cools the coffee too quickly, the instructions say to preheat the press before brewing. Haven't used it yet but due to the double wall design I expect that's the difference between people who say it cools too quickly and those who say the coffee stays hot for a long time. I look forward to trying this out and will update the review after using it for a while. It came with an extra colander and long-handled stainless steel spoon. When you pull the strainer out of the press pot, it makes an unpleasant scraping noise, but that means the strainer has to prevent the coffee grounds from flowing out. I am very happy with this press! :)
