Not ready for prime time - defective power supply

Power, 1A" was defective upon delivery. Its output was 4.74V (under spec) NO LOAD, and the main KVM switch box (no remote) alone could not reliably power a keyboard or mouse. The voltmeter on the USB port only shows 4.25V when the keyboard and remote control are first connected to the KVM.But after 1 week the remote switch failed due to a short circuit. When I plug in the remote, it doesn't light up, KVM dims and doesn't work.(The USB port voltage drops below 1 volt even when I use my third-party 5V 2A power adapter.) The KVM works with a 3rd party power supply when the included remote is never plugged in. This fact prompted me to test further to verify functionality, reliability and image -/Check sound quality. until I missed my return window by a day. The only issue with this kit's main unit is that it requires dozens of reboots and software updates to make it work with two desktops and two laptops. (All Windows 7 and 10 in my testing at the moment; Linux testing is about to start.) This requires patience and trust that computers and connected monitors, keyboards, mice (and other devices like a camera) will eventually interact with each other and everything else. Video quality (1920 x 1080) is good with perhaps a slight drop in quality. The sound quality is also good, but can vary slightly depending on the hardware and "normal" settings/routing. In Windows - Control Panel - Devices there are many settings/options and new devices when plugged in, doubly so when I use newer laptops via docking stations connected via USB-C.
