The mirror cover fits snugly over the original housing and does not dangle at all. It is easy to install within 10 seconds. It's secure and seems unlikely to fall off. All I needed was a simple mirror as the original LCD auto-dimming mirror was dying, but there was no such simple mirror. This mirror offers a wider view, but this is of limited value as this is a sports car that only seats two people and the additional viewing area only extends to the interior of the car. But it's perfectly serviceable and a lot cheaper than the original $500 mirror it replaces.
