It is important to relieve fuel pressure in the fuel line by removing the fuel pump relay or fuel pump fuse and then cranking the car to the stop. The tool is easy to use. I used it to disconnect the quick fuel line from the fuel filter for a 2002 Ford Explorer. I have read several reviews on the best way to use this tool on a Ford quick connect connector. I used the 3/8 end of the tool and inserted it into the connector. The trick is to use enough force to pop the inner clip open so you can slide the fuel filter out. I inserted a flathead screwdriver between the tool and the fuel filter for the lever and pushed and pushed the cable towards the tool as well. In this way you push the cable towards the filter/instrument. It takes a little force, but the cork will come out of the filter. The tool is used to push the inner clip into the plug so it can slide off the small lip on the fuel filter.
