I have tried several highly rated generics. Maybe a lot of people don't see the difference, but I can. Philips Sonicare brushes have a lot more "trail" behind the turn of the bristles. I believe their neodymium magnets are just stronger and that makes a difference. You can tell if you turn on the brush and just start touching the bristles. Philips heads do not shorten the vortex. The other two generics I tried reduce the effects immediately. For me, that means less cleaning action when the brush head is in contact with the teeth.
