Buy. DO THAT. DO IT NOW. This thing is a bighorn sheep in sheep's clothing. I saw this pop up as a related item with someone who knows what I'm buying and spontaneously decided to buy it. It was so cheap I felt like I couldn't buy it. Also, I got tired of pulling a giant Vitamix unit out of the cabinet above the fridge every time I wanted to make myself a smoothie. I also didn't want to clean this huge thing and make it take up all the space on the counter all the time. However, I'm also very tired of buying blenders as I've had 4 of them die at once. a matter of several years and usually within the first year of continuous use. Like vacuum cleaners, they just aren't built to last, and the ones that are good are about as expensive as 10 of their cheaper competitors, so pick your poison. There is no middle ground and the only reason I even had a blender before Epica is because my roommate forgot his outrageously expensive Vitamix when he moved out and he obviously hasn't tried making smoothies in the last 3 years . So, uh. If you see Mike, come on, just don't bring it up. But I digress. I love the idea of a small one shot bullet blender that is easy to use, clean and store. The ones I've tried before managed everything to some degree (Ninja, Magic Bullet, a Macy's brand with an Italian name I forgot) but also died quickly, and with two of them I would don't even try to break the ice. . . Compared to them, this thing works like dropping a Corvette engine in a Chevrolet Cruze. Unexpected beast mode. I nervously loaded ice cream here for the first time, as well as frozen fruit, protein, peanut butter and who knows what else. ahhh brrrt! The perfect smoothie. The creature barely flinched as it sliced through everything. Not only does it work better than expected, but the stainless steel base fits nicely in the kitchen and is small enough to be left standing on the counter. Class. Sometimes it takes a few pulses to get everything swirled and crushed in the cup and you may need to detach it and shake it a bit, reattach it and then continue mixing. However, the application is so easy and quick despite the fact that the whole mixing process takes about 30 seconds. PLUS you drink from the mug you mixed it in so you don't mess up another one, and you can even take it with you with a leak-proof lid. BRILLIANT. who hates dishes EVERYTHING IN MIND. Another moment for Epica. The cup has disadvantages and these are 1. obviously you can't fit much in there but that comes with space and 2. it is quite difficult to clean. Unless you have Trump's dainty little hands, it's basically impossible to put your hands in there to clean with a sponge, and you'll need some sort of specialty brush or something to clean them otherwise very well. I usually just spray it on, rinse with some soapy water and rinse off. It's not perfect but clean enough for me. So the downsides here are that you can't make a margarita for 4 at a time, which nobody buys it for, and it's not very easy to clean thoroughly. I can live with that and won't even deduct a star for it. One thing is for sure, you won't find a more powerful blender for anything this thing is sold for. Can't comment on durability but I've been using it for 8 months with no issues and it's so cheap it even makes those device protection plans a breeze. I bought the 3 year warranty for a whopping $3.88 so for less than $29 I have a little ice breaking beast blender with a 3 year warranty. Good luck finding another one like this.
