Received the fence and couldn't wait to open and install it having just bought a new puppy. Australian Shepherd and Poodle mix. I decided to spend $80 and buy an edger/trencher and it digs 2 to 4 inches and I used a paint stirrer and pushed the wire into the trench. My puppy was fully fence trained in a week. He was confused and froze the first time he went too far, but he didn't bark or look in pain. It just wasn't comfortable. I picked him up and showed him the flags again and now it's been 2.5 months and he's never gone further than just getting a beep. I recommend either removing the collar or remembering to turn it off when taking your dog anywhere. It is very important. Otherwise, your dog will tell you when you pull out of your driveway. It was also something that only happened once and I learned quickly. I had a few questions about everything and customer service was a huge help and kinder to me than I ever thought possible. So kind, easy to talk to and most of all patient with me. The remote control is such a bonus to the system. Being able to take my dog with me when I'm at work or cycling with my daughter. It's nice to know that I have that kind of security when I need it.
