Update! The filter seal lasted almost 3 weeks! Super happy! The tank spins! Many plants and fish are happy, which makes me happy! Maybe I'll try rinsing the filter mat in aquarium water to see if I can get a little more time. But 5 stars in my book! Okay, I love my Fluval C3 HOB filter for my 29 gallon aquarium, but the Fluval brand mechanical filter pads lasted less than a week! I would try rinsing them in a bucket of aquarium water but that didn't help at all. So I did a lot of research and found that this roll of dual density mechanical filter media (cut to size) works fantastic! Much cheaper in the long run and I think they actually work better! My tank was clean with the stock Fluval pads, but it seems clean with these! I was able to cut 25 mechanical filter media for my Fluval C3 with this filter media pack! I'm on day 3. I'll be updating on day 5 just to see if they last longer than the Fluval brand. I have a sponge with pre-filter on the water inlet (I have amano shrimp to eat hair algae)
