My son loves these shirts. That's all he wants to wear. I would definitely increase the size. My son is 2.5 and wears 3T in shirts and pants. I ordered size 4 (not 4T) and it fits like its 3T shirts. It's going to be cold in our area for a while so I figured out the sizes hoping to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath but the sizing doesn't allow for that. The neck holes are also small, but it takes a little more effort to put the shirt on in the morning.
