I bought these mainly for bird watching. They were good for their intended use, but I can't say I was impressed. They take the look of a bird already in view and make it a little bigger and clearer. In 1-2 months of ownership there hasn't been a single instance where I thought I would never do an ID without them. However, besides birdwatching, I have used it for astronomy (last Jupiter/Saturn conjunction) as well as for terrestrial observation. In these qualities, especially the latter, they were really good with a large field of view, fast focusing and a sharp image. When I first tried them, I hated them. I often had problems with collimation. After using it, I realized that the problem was not in the optics, but in me. Once I got them the way I liked/needed them for my less than perfect vision, they were great. I bought them for closer to $200 than $300 after various discounts. I'd buy another pair for $200. For $300 I could imagine something else, but if you're looking for relatively inexpensive binoculars for everyday use, check out these. I'm very happy so far.
