I've been using these little rubber stoppers for years and they work great as far as I know. I have yet to find any earrings that don't go over a metal stud and really hold the earring in place. I find them comfortable. I don't even know what they are on the earring. I use them for more than just earrings. I also use them to add another layer of security to pins/brooches. I place one of these on the part that goes through your clothing and then attach the clip. My pins/brooches kept spinning and falling without my knowledge. I haven't had this problem since I started using one of those little rubber stoppers. Also, I haven't lost a single earring since I've been using them. And I've definitely lost a lot of earrings.
