I finally bought a brand new sewing machine. I've had used cars all my adult life. I broke down and bought this one. I've been using it for a few weeks now and am enjoying the learning process. Threading: very easy. There is a needle threader that I didn't have before. I've used it every time I've filled up the car and it's always worked like a charm. Winding the bobbin was a bit more difficult but I discovered the trick and now I have no problem. General Sewing: Like a sewing machine, it is very stable and even. she has a pedal but you can also press the button and sew without the pedal. It also has a speed lever (which I've never had before) so you can slow it down when working on complex fabrics or speed it up when working on simple projects. Speed also works with your pedal. So if you don't feel comfortable sewing above a certain speed, you can adjust the lever there. It was a really nice feature that I didn't know I needed. LOTS of different stitch options to install. It's easy to find what you need and change the stitch length. Since I've always worked with a very old machine, it took some fine tuning here, but now I have so many options. It is great. Embroider: I've never owned an embroidery machine so it was brand new. It is very easy to switch from one to the other. Attach the attachment, change the sewing foot and you're ready to go. I've played around with this and it's been a lot of fun putting inscriptions or monograms on things. It comes with several preinstalled images or you can go to IBroidery.com to download more. I had to email customer service to help me download my free embroidery kits, but they helped and now I have both kits that came free with my machine. (Maybe it should come preinstalled, but I can't complain too much!) Style: This car is actually a lot lighter than any other car I've owned. I guess because most of the work is plastic but as we all know sewing machines can be beasts! So if I ever had to take it anywhere I wouldn't need to see a chiropractor afterwards! It changes a bit when I work with it sometimes, but that's not a problem. If necessary I could buy him a silicone mat and he would take care of the sliding. Well, I happen to be a big geek, so the added fun of bezels is a bonus. But you don't have to wear them! The car looks fine without the license plates.
