Review on ITOMA Childrens Trainer Nightime Machine by Patrick Alexander

My high expectations were not met

My 2 year old chose this clock for his room. I had high hopes that it would put him to sleep while also giving him comfort at night with the soundscapes and different lighting options he provided. I can't believe I'm saying this but this watch has almost too many features. The sides of the owl are studded with different buttons. The top of the owl also has functions that allow you to turn on lights etc. It offers military and standard time, but I could never get it to stay on standard time. If we set an alarm and I turn it off, it's back to wartime. This confused my son. The soundscapes are 20 second clips that OBVIOUSLY repeat as you can hear a short pause and then it starts again. I've used other sound machines in the past and they make the transition smooth, it's NOT smooth. My son really liked the other lighting option, but you can't dim the lights around the owl, only the clock face, which doesn't make sense, especially since the boardinghouse lighting is BRIGHT (illuminates the room). I thought maybe it was just bittersweet because it wasn't easy to install, but my husband played with it and couldn't figure it out either, and that was with the book. Setting an alarm, learning to sleep OR keeping track of time isn't easy, and if that's too difficult for us, can you imagine a two year old trying to figure it out? I would not buy this watch because of the difficult handling. Returned!
