I would make it more comfortable for many dogs.

If you use a chain collar then this is what you need. The cord that runs through the links of the chain prevents hair loss. I have a short haired dog and a chain collar without that cord pulling her hair out. I bought pink for my girl. When I have my boy this year or next I will buy him a black one. This is my first drawstring choker and I wish I had known years ago that they are tied for function and not just decoration. I would make it more comfortable for many dogs.
