A better design would have the fuse within a few inches of the .
This product is working properly. The connector fits the CR series detectors, but the fuse sits too far back - it's at the end of the 10ft cable and I only needed the 10ft cable. The mirror is already melted and the detector is drawing little current, so I cut the fuse and just used a 10" with a plug on it. A better design would place the fuse a few inches from the outlet.
