Review on WeMo 4T T3X2 Y1HT Light Appliances Control by Robert Cooper

I am blown away by the high ratings this product is getting here and elsewhere. My experience included several moments of frustration and anger. I know I am not alone as I have read many reviews all saying the same thing - the device cannot connect to some networks. After two hours of excitement, it became pretty clear that the device failed to connect to either my 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless network (the latter couldn't even be identified). The app would crash every time connecting with a password I got this far into the install process (which was only half the time). In the same amount of time I was unsuccessfully trying to get a port to work, I installed and fully configured two Chromecasts, a Hub speaker, and six Hue lights (including the bridge). It's also worth talking about the app. Awkward and useless are two of the first words that come to mind. There is no save button, exiting the app causes a restart, and every time I had to try again I cleared the app's storage before proceeding. Belkin could learn a thing or two from Philips, whose Hue software works like a charm and provides tons of feedback on exactly what's going on.
