Not bad for a late January purchase

UPDATE: That damn hood really gets in the way if you lower it while driving. There is so much stuff! However, it unzips and I personally would probably take it off if I was on a trip or something. I've been wearing this jacket for about 6 weeks. I ignored the advice and increased the size instead of decreasing it. Yes I was supposed to go downstairs but it was the end of the season and I was afraid that if I returned it would run out - in fact it was gone the day after I ordered! However, I hate clothes that are too tight and now it's a big problem (2 times) to wear a thick hoodie underneath and still feel free. The jacket is a bit thin and I needed a sweatshirt when walking my dog. The hood is huge! My head is a little small, but I'm not a pinhead. This turns off my peripheral vision when digging with a shovel or crossing the street. So I just wrap the scarf around my neck and pull some fabric through to make the hood look smaller. It suits me, but someone will not find it very fashionable. If you have both a big head and luscious hair, maybe that could be a positive thing? Lightning has given me some issues, but not too bad so far. I wish it had snaps too, like my last jacket, so I can still zip the jacket up if the zip comes undone (and it always does!). The jersey cuffs on each sleeve actually extend at least 4 inches under the sleeve which is a great feature! Protects your forearms when you don't have gloves or they ride up. A color I would call wine. It shines beautifully, although the fabric is not shiny. I think it's nicer than in the picture. The small gathered eyelets just above the waist don't really make the jacket more figure-hugging than one reviewer claimed, at least not 2x! :) I think it adds a bit of visual interest, but I definitely look like Nanook from the north. But dammit, this is Wisconsin and I wanted a good hooded winter jacket. Oh, those zippers on the hood - I would have preferred buttons or buttons, but that's okay. I'm very satisfied so far and so glad I ordered it when I did. However, I would never order a zip-up jacket without any other type of fastener unless I was so desperate.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
