For a beginner amateur photographer with a DX camera, this is a great lens. Some even put it on full-frame cameras and, despite the vignetting, were pleasantly surprised by the result. Examples of my shots with it: 35mm f 1.8g af-s dx nikkor Pros: - Sharp in moderation - not bad for portraits (especially half-length ones). - High-aperture. Allows you to shoot indoors in daylight and artificial light without a flash. - Relatively versatile due to the focal length (on crop - approx. 52 mm). - Not bad for shooting video in small sections with manual focus. - Compact - convenient when traveling, hiking, etc. It does not outweigh even a light (D5100) carcass on the neck. - Good equipment - a case and a hood are included. - Cheap. Has cons: - Chromatic aberrations in contrasting areas of the frame, increasing towards the edges (corrected in editors) - Autofocus sometimes misses, the possibility of manual fine-tuning does not help when shooting dynamic scenes. - Universal - does not have ideal areas of application: not strictly speaking portrait, not strictly speaking landscape . The reverse side of his dignity.
