Review on ALTRA AL0A4VQL Rivera Athletic Running Shoes for Men in Black by David Maxwell

I'm really torn on how to rate them. This is not a good shoe for me as a former minimalist and current Escalante runner. I was looking for something with more cushioning than the Escalante 2.5. Although it's an option on the Altra website via the shoe finder, it's not a great shoe if you're used to Escalantes. I had 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and Racer. Shoes 2.0 are better than these. The toe box is so tight and small I'm afraid my toes will rip open the upper. The soles are stiff and the cushioning "feels" the same or less than the racers. When cornering in these shoes, the soles feel like they're coming off and they don't have good stability. I regret not going back to ebay immediately or buying from Altra where I could return in 30 days. I've ridden about 50 miles in these shoes and I just don't like them. I decided to give this one 2 stars instead of 1 as it's not a good shoe for me but another user might need it.
