These were life savers for me when I first had my daughter last October. We live in Florida, so we didn't necessarily need anything too warm, the main reason we needed mittens was to prevent her from scratching herself or pulling her own hair. We had countless other mittens (given as presents too), but I ended up stocking those away and got two more packs of this one. The reason I loved it so much was because of the thin non-furry material, as well as the elastic on the wrist. Anytime she would use furry, warm mittens, the little bristles would get stuck in her mouth because obviously she would try to suck on her hand. This one didn't have that problem. Additionally, all other mittens she had would be either too small for her hands when the elastic fit, or the elastic would be too big on her wrist when the hand part fit. These were large enough for her fingers to be straight open with a snuggle enough elastic on the wrist so that the mittens didn't fall off.Overall, one of the best purchases I made during newborn stage.
