Review on BETOOLL Crankshaft Removal Holding Spanner by Mike Rubenstein

ID too small for thick walls Lisle 77080 19MM HARMONIC BALANCER BUSHING

I have a 2005 MDX. The crankshaft bolt has never been removed. I first tried a standard wall thickness impact head, but didn't move it with either a crowbar or IR air blast. I then bought this product. I don't have a lift or other set of hands to hold this tool so I had to make a jig to keep it from turning the handle. Tried using the standard impact socket again but it wouldn't budge. I borrowed a Lisle 77080 Extra Thick Impact Head from a friend but found it didn't fit the instrument. I ended up using a 19mm wrench on the power steering pulley bolt along with a block of wood wedged into the radiator bracket to prevent it from moving and also to prevent the crank from turning. There wasn't much confidence that it would work, but it did. A few hits on impact and I saw him weaken. So that. This tool *can* work without a heavy socket if you can lift the car high enough to get the geometry right with a long enough breaker. * be able to remove your standard gauge impact head bolt - IF it has already been disabled previously. *Maybe* there's a thick-walled head that will fit this tool - and to the sellers' credit, they show the ID of the tool. But Lisle 77080 is too thick to fit inside. And it's NOT close enough to just break out. I also have a lathe, but that hand makes it difficult to work with, and I didn't have the right tool to machine the inside. to a Honda engineer - kick them in the balls. For all of us.

Pros
  • Strong finish
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
