All repair points are correct. Without this or a similar tool, it is not possible to disassemble and properly tighten the crank. It's worth the cost if you can actually get the job done. I used this tool to replace the water pump and timing belt on my 2005 Acura RL. To my knowledge this is the only tool that holds the crankshaft to loosen the bolt on the harmonic balancer. I recently purchased this to replace the crank/harmonic on my 1995 Honda Accord. This item is factory packed with grease to prevent corrosion. Once removed, the tool has a layer of black oxide to further slow corrosion and give it a black appearance.
