Strong and stable - safety, aids and bathroom accessories

Among other things, I have injuries to the cervical spine. I don't fall in the bathtub. I drop out ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Mostly when I shave my legs and even just wash dishes in the shower. (TMI? Maybe) For me, hairy legs are not glam in the summer. However, I'd rather have hairy legs than hurt myself even more if I fall out of the tub. I don't want to drill holes in my tiles. If I'm lucky, the tile will break. I remember using this type of handrail on a suction pan a few years ago with no success. So this ugly white handrail that I use now to hold my quilting rulers so I can cut the fabric. After reading many reviews of different suction cup handrails, I settled on this one. I'm glad I did ๐Ÿ™‚ I've shaved my legs 3 times with great success! Success means I didn't fall out of the tub! As you can see, my tiles are 6" x 6". There is enough space for proper handrail placement. There are certain things that MUST be done before installing a handrail. You can see how important these steps are to your safety by reading the many reviews that include precautions. Always read reviews no matter what you buy. In any case... 1) Check that your handrail will fit where you plan to place it. You need to consider where the grout lines will be in relation to the handrail placement. Under no circumstances should the suction cup be placed on the grout line. They will NOT have suction power. 2) Clean the area where your handrail will be. For a 12" railing, I sanded 3 tiles across and 5 tiles up and down. The first cleaning was with my regular cleaning spray. Let dry. Clean the area again with alcohol. I used 90% alcohol because I have it on hand. I'm pretty sure 70% alcohol will work too. If I had 70% alcohol I would do it twice. Absolutelyโ€ฆ as soon as I heard the squeak and saw no streaks, I knew my wall was ready for the railing. 3) Place a damp paper towel on the suction cups. No need for a wet paper towel. This can make it difficult to apply a small amount of water to the suction cups. 4) Using both levers, place the handrail where you want it. Make sure both shells are inside the tile and NOT over the grout line. If your handrail is slipping, chances are you have too much water on the suction cups. It may be dangerous! Because the handrail slips and you fall. As far as I know. ๐Ÿฅบ5) Tap until both red dots turn green. You may need someone with more upper body strength to do this for you. 6 Maintain the same pressure that turned the red dots green and rotate the levers to close. 7) Make sure the green dots are still green. If not, repeat steps 4.5 and 6. And that's it! I hope my instructions are helpful and make sense. Thank you for taking the time to read them. ๐Ÿ™‚
