I bought a 13" MacBook Air and decided I would pursue a hardshell case to prevent any keyboard imprinting on the screen - an issue I've had with previous MacBooks. That being said, I think this case is just about as good as I'll get, at least for the price. It seems to be made pretty well and the shell doesn't give very easily at all. I could see some tension points being able to reach the laptop itself, but this case works very well for any backpack (especially with textbooks!) so that's good enough for me.
