These straps are very easy to use and the buckles are easy to put on. The ratchet eliminates my problem with buckle straps where they wear out at the buckle and sag over time. One of these straps eventually wore out after 2 years of almost daily use and I just bought this one to replace. The buckle hasn't worn out, but the belt itself has fallen apart - but it's lasted long enough to be worth the money - so I may go back to buy another one. I love how tight the ratchet can be tightened to get the Jeep in my pants, and if I feel like it's too tight in the middle of the day (or during mealtime) I can lower it one ratchet , without loosening the strap - very carefully
